Bridgewater charter panel scraps plan for new email inbox
Other Committee · Meeting of September 16, 2026
Bridgewater's Charter Review Committee scraps plan for its own email inbox. Members voted unanimously to keep routing correspondence through secretary Debbie Ward rather than build a separate committee address, with one member warning against making "support personnel" jobs easier "for themselves, not for the people they're supposed to be supporting." The committee also reported 62 survey responses as of September 16, below the 100-plus responses a past charter survey drew, and set its fourth and final public forum for October 7 at 6 p.m. at the fire station. Members voted to post a standalone charter document to the committee's website once secretary Ward finishes separating it from the town's combined administrative code.
The panel plans to begin reorganizing its article-by-article review around related topics, such as finance provisions, starting around October 1.
