Bridgewater Energy Committee Welcomes New Member Longo
Other Committee · Meeting of August 4, 2026
Bridgewater's Energy Committee, down to two members, welcomes Will Longo and flags a stalled energy code. Chair Carlton and new member Longo reviewed National Grid's August 1 rate reset to 17.185 cents per kilowatt-hour against the town's aggregation rates of 14.1 to 14.5 cents, a savings Carlton put at "16 to 18 percent" for residents, adding he personally saves over $85 a month. The pair discussed a specialized energy code, Ordinance DFY24-003, recommended to the town council roughly three years ago and never adopted, plus a state Climate Leader Community certification that could unlock up to $150,000 in technical-assistance grants and up to $1 million in decarbonization project funding.
Carlton called the accelerator grants something "the town in this current fiscal situation would, could really use." No members of the public attended; the only formal action was a 2-0 roll-call vote to adjourn.
