Planning Board · Meeting of July 15, 2026

Bridgewater Planning Board approves four-lot Moxie Way subdivision, defers two cases amid water moratorium dispute. The board voted 4-0 on July 15 to approve the definitive subdivision plan at 548 South Street, granting waivers for road alignment and detention basin proximity while conditioning approval on a nitrogen aggregation plan for all four lots, establishment of a homeowners association before any lot release, and Conservation Commission approval before Lot 3 may be built upon, a requirement Chair Patrick Driscoll called newly essential given the site's location in the town's Zone 2 aquifer protection area. A separate modification request for 292 Bedford Street erupted into open conflict when applicant representative Steve LaBelle told the board he would file a $9 million lawsuit if the matter was continued, arguing the town had illegally enacted a de facto water connection moratorium and had already issued him a valid tie-in permit; the board, citing a letter from DPW Director Antinero received that morning urging no action, voted 4-0 to continue that hearing to August 5.

The board also voted 4-0 to favorably recommend street acceptance for Stonewall Place, Quail Run Road, and Oldfield Road. Vice Chair Michael MacDonald and Member Steven Geller were both absent, leaving the board at four voting members for all decisions.
