BRIDGEWATER — The Bridgewater Conservation Commission issued a second enforcement order against 1010 Elm Street after stockpiled debris vanished in violation of a cease-and-desist order, voting to add a $300-a-day fine while it seeks town counsel's confirmation on doubling the total penalty to $600 a day. Chair Marilyn McDonald, who said she has served 12 years on the board, called the find "appalling," adding the site was "treated like this with blatant disregard for what this commission is telling them." The commission also hired consultant Mark Manganiello of LEC to review the site and voted to close hearings and issue orders of conditions for duplex projects at 167 Oak Street and a retaining-wall project at 292 Bedford Street. Two other filings, at 550 Curve Street and Vernon Street, were continued to December 10 and October 22, respectively.
A request to expand invasive-species clearing near Zero Pleasant Street was deferred pending a commission site visit.
