Town Council approves $8.5 million water loan
Bridgewater Town Council approved an $8.5 million water system loan order. The 9-0 vote followed a hearing in which Town Manager Justin said the money would fund the Plymouth Street treatment facility, Main Street main repairs and Vernon Street well work, offset by a $2 million MassDEP grant.

The Town Council voted 9-0 to petition MassDEP to add a moratorium on new water connections to the town's emergency declaration. Councilor Kennedy won two amendments: one noting the state approval expires Dec. 4, and one exempting projects approved by June 30.

CPC recommends $8,000 match for Townhouse grant
The Community Preservation Committee recommended $8,000 in fiscal 2027 administrative funds to match a state cultural grant for the old Town Hall. The 5-0 roll-call vote Wednesday came after Chair Gina Gasconi said the town had been notified of the award, which requires an equal cash match.

Charter panel limits scope to charter text
The Charter Review Committee voted 7-0 to limit its scope to amending or updating the town charter. A member's amendment says that if the panel finds a form-of-government change appropriate, it will recommend the Town Council form a Town Government Study Committee.
