Bridgewater Board of Health votes to fill regional grant advisory seats

Other Committee · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Bridgewater Board of Health fills both seats on a regional health grant board left vacant since its last health agent departed. Jalen Moore, shared services coordinator for the six-town Halifax Public Health Excellence group, told the board roughly $400,000 of the regional grant funds shared staff, including a regional nurse and inspector who have covered Bridgewater's restaurant and septic inspections in the agent's absence. The board unanimously appointed Kevin Blomquist as primary representative and Michelle Gamble, who has run the health office administratively in the interim, as alternate.

Gamble said she is "definitely not an expert" but is "the sole proprietor of the office at this point." The board also voted to reassess both appointments once a new health agent is hired, a process members estimated could take at least two months, and set its next meeting for September 30 at 3:30 p.m.
