Bridgewater Planning Board Continues Two Subdivision Matters to February 4
Planning Board · Meeting of January 21, 2026
Bridgewater Planning Board continues two subdivision matters amid a bond policy dispute. The board voted unanimously at its January 21 meeting to push both the 593 Plymouth Street definitive subdivision public hearing, filed by Friday Investment Group, LLC, and a separate lot-release request to February 4. The lot-release case turned contentious when applicant Mark McLeod learned the board accepts only cash bonds — not insurance-company surety bonds — as security for the $32,712.50 in remaining road work, a policy Chair Patrick Driscoll said has held for his 12 years on the board and is backed by a prior legal opinion.
McLeod said he had not been informed of the cash-only requirement and had already paid for a $50,000 insurance bond, which the board declined to accept. The board also required McLeod to record homeowners association formation documents and rules and regulations before the two lots — intended for his son and daughter — can be released.
